A long deceased friend of my dad’s had a huge thing for these as well, although I think he liked the Chevys. When he found out they were cancelling the line, he went to a dealer and bought THREE off the lot and put them in storage.
He was a very strange guy, probably worth $40-50M, never married and left his whole estate to Ducks Unlimited.
I remember meeting him once and he showed me the $10,000 in cash that he carried on him at all times in a fanny pack. 100 $100 bills.

My brother “ purchased” one for $1 from my grandfather. Immaculate condition. Unfortunately it didn’t survive more than a few additional years in the Michigan and Minnesota winters.
